This year I have decided to give reading a good and proper go – compared to my customary reading of once in a while. I have dusted down my Goodreads account (which had been left just as vacant as my books) for a piece of well needed inspiration. I’m always up for a challenge and when I saw on Goodreads the opportunity to set myself a 2015 reading challenge, I signed straight away. Thinking realistically, I have given myself the challenge to read 12 books over the next year. There is nothing more to gain from this except for personal pride and a slight feeling of smugness. We shall see how it goes. I didn’t want to be too daring as my commitment levels to new hobbies are not the best. I’ve tried hard to not create a list of ‘must reads’, instead I will just see what comes along and draws my attention. I’m not very particular when it comes to genre and I like to read a bit of everything and anything.
On a side note, how amazing is Goodreads! There’s nothing quite so satisfying as seeing all of the books you have read listed in one place. Goodreads is a very useful (and easy) way to list everything you have read, everything you want to read and what you are reading at the moment. You can find suggestions for what to read next based on your reading history plus you can also see what your friends are reading. It’s great if you need a little inspiration to encourage your reading habits.
