Throwback Thursday: Manu, Peru 2007

19 year old me swinging through the jungle in the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest. During my gap year before university, I spent two months volunteering on a conservation project in deepest darkest Peru.

Over the years I think this photo must have been copied a few times and sadly I have no idea where the original is. Thanks to facebook, I still have a copy though! It was my first experience of ‘travelling’ and it was the start of my love for exploring the world. I hold many dear memories of this time and hope to go back there some time in the future.

Throwback Thursday

I’m quite the fan when it comes to reminiscing about the past. Family home videos are watched annually and I can easily waste hours scrolling through old photos on my laptop.

So #tbt is perfect for me.

This photo was taken in 2009 on Christmas Day. My family spent the Christmas break in Whitby and that is my Dad throwing seaweed at me. This was a first for us as past Christmas’s have always been spent at home in Northampton but as it was my parents 25th wedding anniversary they wanted to make this year extra special.

We spent most of the week either outside exploring snowy Whitby or inside with the heating turned up high (watching Prison Break sshhh) and it was brilliant.

So that’s my first Throwback Thursday photo. Here’s to many more!
