Visiting Chiang Mai in the North of Thailand generally means Elephants, Temples and Thai cooking lessons. Chiang Mai was the penultimate place of the trip, we were poor and we were templed out so when we came across a 3D/illusion art museum ‘Art in Paradise’ we were obviously going to go. (And yes, that is the name of the museum and not just me trying to sound pretentious as someone has stated..)
Some of my best experiences of the trip have involved animals. I’ve never considered myself to be much of an animal person, perhaps because most creatures with fur leave me suffering and sneezing for the rest of the day. Hence why I currently own a goldfish and cannot wait to have my very own tortoise.
In my third instalment I want to write about the time I got to swim with elephants. A couple of friends joined us for a two-week trip around Thailand for a holiday. An elephant ride had been on my to-do list for a while and I was rather excited by the time the day finally came around. We decided Khao Lak in Thailand would be the best place for this and we weren’t short on offers.
